The College is the first and the only institute in the State of Goa, affiliated to the privileges of Goa University and is recognized by Govt. of Goa. It is also recognised by Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi & Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Dept. of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

BHMS Degree:

ADMSSION:
  1. COURSE:
    BHMS, Bachelour of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery.
    Duration: 4 ½ yrs. + 1 year Internship.
    1. The College now offers the course B.H.M.S., Degree in Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery of 5 ½ years duration, including a compulsory Internship of 1 year duration after passing the final B.H.M.S. examination.
    2. The Internship shall be undertaken at the Hospital attached to the College or any other Hospital or dispensary run by the Central Government, State government or local bodies. As per the guidelines of the Central Council of Homoeopathy.

      Goa University shall award the degree ONLY after successful completion of Internship.
    3. After completion of the Internship for the specified period upto the satisfaction of the Head of the Institution where Internship was undertaken, on receipt of Internship Completion Certificate issued by the Principal, Goa University shall award the Degree to the successful candidates.

  4. MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:
    Instructions are imparted through English medium, the question papers for the examination shall be set in English and answer books should be written in English only.

  5. ELIGIBILITY:
    A candidate for being eligible for admission to B.H.M.S. Degree Course.
    1. Must have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination conducted by a Board or University and deemed by Goa University to be equipment thereto, with the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subjects and English.
    2. Must have obtained not less than 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination at one and the same sitting provided that in respect of the candidate belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribes and other backward classes the marks, obtained shall be 40% in lieu of 50% for the general category.
    3. Shall have attained the age of 17 years or shall attain that age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year of the course.

  6. PROVISIONAL ELIGIBILTY CERTIFICATE:
    Applicants, who have passed the qualifying examination from Universities/ Boards other than the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, shall submit their provisional eligibility certificates from the Goa University along with their application.

    Migration Certificate: A student from other State who has secured admission to this course should submit the migration certificate immediately.

General instructions:
  1. The students enrolled in the institution are accountable for their behaviour and conduct to the Head of the Institution and faculty members.
  2. The Students are expected to maintain the highest standard of discipline and conduct.
  3. The regular classes for 1st BHMS 2006 – 2007 batch shall commence from 16th July 2007.
  4. Ragging is strictly prohibited. Any student found indulging in ragging activity shall be expelled from the College.
  5. Students are required to have attendance not less than 75% in theory and 80% in practicals.
  6. Absence on Account of Medical ground shall not be considered for attendance benefit.
  7. Students are instructed to consult the concerned faculty members and seek their necessary guidance, in respect to Curriculum, Books or any other difficulty related to the subject.
  8. Practical Journals, I. D. Card, Library Card and Dissection Card shall be made available in the College Office on payment of requisite fees.
  9. The Students should wear white apron-knee length with elbow sleeves, three pockets and a name plate during college hours.
  10. Subject text books and other requirements should be purchased as per the furnished list.
  11. The Students of I – BHMS ( new entrants ) should get themselves immunized against Hepatitis ‘B’ before the commencement of Anatomy dissection.
  12. The college bus will ply from Shiroda Bazar to College and back as per the prescribed schedule.
  13. Students should seek admission to next higher class within ten (10) days after completing the University examination, irrespective of declaration of result, students who fails to pay the fees within the stipulated period, shall be differed by six months and will have to join the different batch, please note.
  14. The tuition fees should be paid as per the office notification.
Dress Code:
The students are hereby informed to strictly abide by the following dress code.
1) Clothes worn by the students should be decent.
2) Provocative attire and scanty dressing should be avoided by the students.
3) The student who does not abide to the dress code will be informed orally by the Staff Incharge.
4) Repeated/ failure to abide to the dress code will be dealt with stringent action as decided by the Principal.
5) Apron is compulsory for all students, attending college, clinics and hospital.

Blazers:
In accordance to the decision of the Students Council & there after on concurrence from the Governing Council, the Students are hereby instructed to wear Blazer & Trousers on the occasions specified from time to time as per the following specification.
